FAAN Targets Full ISO Certification by December 2025

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has set December 2025 as the deadline to achieve full International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certification across all its managed airports.
According to a statement issued in Lagos by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, the initiative aims to entrench a culture of service quality, operational safety, and sustainable practice within the authority.
The Managing Director of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, represented by the Director of Human Resources and Administration, Luqman Emiola, said the new ISO Policy integrates the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System into a single operational framework.
FAAN has so far achieved about 70 per cent completion of the certification process, with external auditors expected to arrive in November to conduct compliance assessments and close identified gaps.
The new policy is designed to standardise FAAN’s internal audit process, ensuring that operations across all directorates reflect its commitment to quality service delivery, safety, environmental protection, and operational excellence.
The authority reaffirmed its dedication to managing Nigeria’s airports in line with global best practices, maintaining safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations while supporting host communities and providing a conducive work environment for staff.
FAAN officials explained that the ongoing audit process will evaluate the organisation’s adherence to quality standards, ethical business conduct, customer satisfaction, and environmental sustainability as part of its broader goal to secure ISO certification by December 2025.
