Emir of Ilorin Hails Durbar Committee for Global Recognition
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has applauded the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee for elevating the annual cultural festival to global recognition.
He gave the commendation at his palace in Ilorin, Kwara State, when he received the committee’s chairman and members, who presented him with the “Best Cultural Award” recently won at the 2025 Akwaaba African Travel Market in Lagos.
The monarch praised the committee for its dedication, hard work, and the consistent honour brought to the Ilorin Emirate, while urging them to see the award as a challenge to achieve greater heights.
Presenting the award, the committee chairman, Engr. Suleiman Alapansanpa said it was conferred in recognition of the committee’s excellent performance and exceptional organisation of the 2025 Ilorin Emirate Grand Durbar.
