Don’t portray insecurity as religious war, minister urges clerics
Information Minister Mohammed Idris has warned religious leaders against portraying Nigeria’s security challenges as a religious war, saying such narratives could threaten national unity ahead of the 2027 elections. He called on Christian leaders to promote truth, peace, tolerance and responsible citizenship, stressing that no Nigerian should face attack or discrimination because of their faith.
