DHQ Confirms Coup Plot Allegations, Says Indicted Officers to Face Military Trial
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that investigations into the alleged misconduct of some military officers uncovered claims of a plot to overthrow the government, with those indicted set to face military trial.
In a statement, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, said a comprehensive investigation conducted in line with established military procedures has been concluded and its report forwarded to the appropriate superior authority as the development follows the arrest of 16 officers in October 2025 for acts of indiscipline and breaches of service regulations.
