Davido to headline AFCON 2025 official kick-off concert
Afrobeats star Davido will perform at the official kick-off concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), organisers have confirmed.
The concert is scheduled to be held on Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the tournament’s opening match. Other artists billed to perform include French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z, and Lartiste.
The event will be open to fans who possess Fan IDs and match tickets.
Davido is no stranger to major global sporting events. He previously performed at the opening ceremony of the 2017 AFCON, the draw ceremony for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards.
AFCON 2025 officially kicks off on Saturday with the opening match between host nation Morocco and Comoros at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.
The tournament is expected to draw global attention, with organisers blending football and entertainment to mark the start of Africa’s biggest football competition.
