China Renews Taiwan Threats at Beijing Security Forum

China’s Defense Minister Dong Jun warned that Beijing would not allow Taiwan to pursue independence, declaring at the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing that the island’s “restoration” is part of the post-war international order. Speaking to international military officials, Dong said China is prepared to stop any separatist moves and “external military interference,” while criticizing actions that create global instability.
