Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has been cleared by a Los Angeles jury in a $24 million civil lawsuit filed by security guard Emani Ellis, who alleged the star assaulted her outside an obstetrician’s office in 2018. The jury took just an hour to find Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, not liable for assault, battery, emotional distress, negligence, or false imprisonment. Witnesses supported Cardi B’s account, and the jury sided with her in full. Following the verdict, Cardi B urged her fans not to harass Ellis, saying she refused to settle because she had done nothing wrong.
