Boko Haram Attack Claims Soldier’s Life, Destroys Facilities in Borno Community
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked the Logomani community in Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a soldier and destroying public facilities, including a police outpost, a healthcare centre, and classrooms.
The terrorists reportedly attacked a Forward Operating Base in the community late Tuesday, engaging troops in a gun battle before setting several government buildings ablaze. Residents fled the area as the attackers moved through the community.
The military said troops under Operation Hadin Kai repelled the assault and launched counter-offensive operations against the insurgents. The army confirmed that one soldier was killed, while military equipment was damaged during the encounter.
Security forces, including troops, police personnel, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, have been deployed to pursue the attackers and restore security. Local authorities have also assessed the damage and promised to seek support for the reconstruction of the affected facilities.
