Billionaire Businessman Oscar Ibru Dies at 67

Prominent Nigerian businessman and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, Olorogun Oscar Ibru, has passed away at the age of 67 after a brief illness.
His family confirmed the news on Wednesday, though details surrounding the cause of death remain sketchy.
Oscar Ibru, the first son of the late Olorogun Michael Ibru, played a central role in sustaining and expanding the family’s vast business empire. Under his leadership, the Ibru Organisation strengthened its foothold across shipping, oil and gas, real estate, banking, marine, agriculture, and commerce.
Founded in 1956, the conglomerate grew to employ between 9,000 and 11,000 people by 1990, and by 2009 had become a multi-billion-dollar enterprise.
Associates described the late mogul as an embodiment of hard work, resilience, and humility, noting that he will be remembered not only for his business acumen but also for his sense of humour and respect for people.
