At least one life claimed in Fatal Accident at Third Mainland Bridge.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), has reported a fatal accident occurring early Saturday morning at approximately 6:30 am on the Third Mainland Bridge near UNILAG waterfront, heading towards Iyana Oworonsoki in Lagos.

According to Debayo Taofiq, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment at LASTMA, the accident resulted in one fatality, attributed to over-speeding. Involved in the tragedy were a Mini Truck with registration number MUS 489 XS and a Toyota Camry registered as KRD 470 JD.

Although, despite the ongoing efforts to educate drivers on speed limits as per the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018, violations persist. Taofiq urged both commercial and private drivers to adhere to speed limits on the Third Mainland Bridge and across Lagos while he also urged both commercial and private drivers to adhere to speed limits on the Third Mainland Bridge and across Lagos.

Furthermore, Taofiq also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and underscored the importance of prioritizing road safety.
