APC blocs warn Rainbow Coalition could hurt Tinubu, party in 2027
Powerful blocs within the All Progressives Congress, APC, have raised concerns that the Nyesom Wike-led Rainbow Coalition could affect President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and the party’s candidates in the 2027 elections. Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, maintains that the coalition supports Tinubu, but the APC blocs argue that fielding candidates under different parties could confuse voters and split the President’s support, particularly in states including Kwara, Rivers, Gombe and Cross River.
