Amnesty International faults security agencies for violent attacks on opposition parties

November 6, 2026

Amnesty International has accused Nigerian security agencies of failing to prevent attacks on opposition political activities following violence that disrupted the ADC campaign convoy in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. In a statement, the organisation linked the incident to similar attacks in Niger, Kaduna, Edo and Enugu states, warning that continued violence and lack of accountability could undermine democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
