Adunni Ade Wins ₦20 Million Defamation Suit Over Alleged Romance With Dino Melaye

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has secured a legal victory in her defamation case against an online news platform that falsely linked her to former senator Dino Melaye.
The ruling, delivered nearly two years after the controversial report surfaced, awarded the actress ₦20 million in damages. The lawsuit stemmed from a publication naming Adunni Ade among six Nigerian celebrities allegedly involved in romantic relationships with the politician.
Adunni Ade filed a ₦100 million suit against Polace Media Limited, operators of naijanews.com, accusing the outlet of publishing false information and invading her privacy.
Celebrating the judgment on her Instagram page, the actress expressed gratitude to the Nigerian judiciary, describing the verdict as a victory for truth and integrity. She noted that the ruling affirmed the importance of privacy and accountability in journalism.
Adunni Ade revealed that she had already won two similar defamation cases and hinted that more were still in court. Responding to questions from followers, she confirmed that the court granted ₦20 million in compensation but added humorously that the blogger behind the story had absconded.
The actress has been vocal about misinformation in the media and continues to advocate for responsible reporting and respect for personal boundaries in the entertainment industry.
