‘Adolescence,’ ‘The Pitt,’ and ‘The Studio’ Shine at 2025 Emmy Awards

British Netflix series Adolescence and American dramas The Pitt and The Studio emerged as the biggest winners at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, held Sunday night at the Peacock Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. The ceremony was hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze.
The Pitt clinched the award for Outstanding Drama Series, while The Studio took home the Outstanding Comedy Series prize, also setting a new record with 13 wins — the most for a comedy in a single season. Meanwhile, Adolescence dominated the limited series category, cementing its place as one of the night’s most celebrated productions.
In one of the evening’s historic moments, 15-year-old Owen Cooper, a star of Adolescence, became the youngest male winner in Emmy history, earning recognition as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie.
Other notable winners included Noah Wyle (The Pitt) for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, Britt Lower (Severance) for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama, Seth Rogen (The Studio) for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy, and Jean Smart (Hacks) for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.
Stephen Graham also secured a major win for Adolescence, taking home Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie, while Cristin Milioti (The Penguin) won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie.
The night’s variety category saw NBC’s SNL50: The Anniversary Special triumph as Outstanding Variety Special (Live), while Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere) earned Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
The ceremony highlighted the global nature of television, with productions from both sides of the Atlantic sweeping major awards.
