Governor Mbah Flags Off Smart Green Schools in Enugu

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has launched Smart Green Schools, a flagship initiative aimed at transforming education through world-class infrastructure, technology-driven learning, and experiential teaching methods. He described the programme as a covenant with the future, stressing that Africa’s sovereignty and relevance begin in classrooms.
The governor justified allocating 33% of the state’s budget to education, noting that the new schools are designed with ICT centres, AI and robotics labs, renewable energy, smart farms, and inclusive support like free meals, books, uniforms, and medical clinics. Acknowledging initial challenges and delays in construction, Mbah assured that all 260 schools would open this term, reaffirming his resolve to equip children with critical skills for the evolving workplace and urging communities to protect the facilities as shared assets for future generations.
