Yuletide: Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price to ₦899.50 per Litre
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, lowering it to ₦899.50 per litre.
The move, aimed at providing relief to Nigerians during the holiday season, was revealed in a statement issued on Thursday by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group.
This latest price cut follows a previous reduction to ₦970 per litre on November 24 and is expected to ease transportation costs amid heightened festive activities.
Alongside the price adjustment, the refinery unveiled a special holiday offer that allows consumers to purchase an additional litre of petrol on credit for every litre bought with cash. The credit is backed by bank guarantees from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
In the statement, Chiejina emphasized the refinery’s commitment to making high-quality petroleum products more accessible while addressing the challenges posed by substandard fuel imports, which have previously threatened public health and the environment.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at ₦899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM.
Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” the statement said.
The refinery expressed appreciation for the public’s continued support and reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring fuel accessibility and affordability, particularly during this festive period.
