World Tuberculosis Day: Nigeria’s First Lady Urges Increased Investment in Tuberculosis Eradication

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for urgent action against Tuberculosis (TB), stressing that one person dies of the disease every seven minutes despite it being preventable and curable. Speaking at community outreach in Sauka, Abuja, to mark the 2025 World Tuberculosis Day, she described Tuberculosis as a national emergency requiring strategic investment in diagnostics, treatment, and prevention while urging stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, legislators, youth, healthcare workers, and international partners, to unite in eradicating Tuberculosis.
