Wizkid Sets Record as Morayo Dominates Apple Music’s Top 17
Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has made history, dominating the music charts with his latest album, Morayo. Within 10 hours of its release on November 22, 2024, all tracks from the album secured spots in the top 17 positions on Apple Music Nigeria.
The album, a deeply personal tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023, has captivated fans worldwide.
The lead single, Piece of My Heart, has already climbed to No. 4 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and No. 7 on the World Digital Song Sales chart. In addition, Morayo shattered Nigeria’s streaming records, with one track garnering 1.57 million streams on Spotify on its first day of release.
