West Africa U17 Women’s Championship Scheduled for December in Ghana

The West Africa Football Union B has officially announced Accra, Ghana, as the host city for the 2024 U17 Women’s Championship. The decision was made public on Wednesday morning, marking the Ghanaian capital as the venue for this prestigious regional tournament.

A total of seven countries will participate in the competition, including Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, and the host nation, Ghana as these teams will compete in a series of matches to determine the champion of West Africa at the U17 level.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from December 12th to 26th, 2024, providing an exciting opportunity for the next generation of female footballers in the region to showcase their skills. The competition promises to be a highly anticipated event, drawing attention from football fans across West Africa.

Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingos, under the guidance of coach Bankole Olowookere, recently made an impressive run to the quarter-finals of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. The team’s strong performance has raised expectations for their participation in the upcoming regional championship.
