We Need Help, Not State of Emergency – Governor Alia Begs FG

Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has appealed to the Federal Government for increased support to tackle the growing insecurity in the state, saying a state of emergency is unnecessary. He stressed that while his administration has made progress, with attacks in local governments reduced from 17 to six, more assistance is needed to address the threat posed by killer herders.Governor Alia emphasized that his government is capable of handling the crisis but requires federal help to fully restore peace and security in the state. He pointed to recent federal support, including the provision of armoured tanks, which has improved the situation but called for continued efforts to drive out invaders and protect the people of Benue.
