Vice President Shettima Offers Condolences, Promises Support for Families of Victims in Maiduguri Crash
Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed profound sorrow over a tragic road accident in Maiduguri that resulted in the deaths of several young graduates from Borno State University and left many others injured.
The Vice President described the incident as a heartbreaking turn of events, noting that what should have been a moment of celebration for these graduates had instead become an unimaginable tragedy.
In his condolence message, Shettima emphasized that the loss of these bright young lives was not just a personal tragedy for their families but a loss for Borno State and the entire nation as he acknowledged the promise and aspirations that these graduates represented and expressed that their untimely deaths had left an irreplaceable void in the community.
Shettima also extended his sympathies to the injured students, wishing them a swift and full recovery. He assured the public that both the Federal Government and Borno State Government would provide all necessary support to aid in their recovery and assist the grieving families. He reiterated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu would ensure such incidents do not continue to rob the nation of its best and brightest.
