Two People Dead Following Multiple Vehicle Accident in Lagos
Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic multiple-vehicle crash at the Second Rainbow Bus Stop along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos.
The incident, which involved a truck carrying groundnut oil, a Honda Accord saloon car, and two commercial buses, prompted an immediate response from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
According to a statement from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), their response team arrived at the scene shortly after a distress call. Upon investigation, it was determined that the truck experienced a mechanical failure while traveling at high speed, leading it to lose control and collide with the other vehicles.
Sadly, two male adults were pronounced dead at the scene, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries as the emergency medical personnel from the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) provided care to the injured, and all four vehicles involved suffered significant damage.
The area was quickly cleared through a joint response effort, with the accident truck and cars evacuated with the assistance of a tow truck. The deceased were transferred to the mortuary, and their bodies were handed over to police officers present at the scene.
