Tinubu Approves N700bn TETFund Disbursement for Tertiary Institutions
President Bola Tinubu has approved the disbursement of over N700 billion to tertiary institutions through TETFund in 2025, with universities receiving N2.8 billion, polytechnics N1.9 billion, and colleges of education N2.1 billion. According to TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Sonny Echono, 91.08% of the funds will go directly to institutions, with allocations for annual and special disbursements, designated projects, and stabilization funds. The government has prioritized upgrading and rehabilitating dilapidated facilities while expanding support for research, academic staff training, and book development. Institutions are urged to utilize past allocations efficiently, plan ahead, and ensure timely project execution.
