The Kwara State Government, through the State Environmental Protection Agency, has issued a strong warning to residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainage channels, stressing that such acts increase the risk of flooding as the rainy season sets in. The Acting General Manager of the agency, Hajia Idayat Folorunsho, represented by the Head of Waste Management Department, Mrs. Tajudeen Fasilat Feyisayo, gave the warning during an inspection and community sensitization campaign in Ilorin. She emphasized the need for unblocked drainages and urged residents to use licensed waste collectors and proper waste disposal methods.
