Tems Addresses Pregnancy Rumors and Shares Her Musical Inspirations
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has addressed rumors that she was pregnant with American rapper Future’s child. Speculation about her pregnancy began after she appeared at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 show during London Fashion Week last December, wearing a black dress paired with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels. Many fans and onlookers thought the dress’s fit suggested she might be expecting.
Appearing on a recent episode of ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Tems questioned the choice of Future as the alleged father in the rumors. She found it surprising that people did not speculate that other artists, like Wizkid or Drake, were the potential father.
“People just take the most controversial things,” she said. “Because I was thinking like, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest. Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else? If it was Drake, it would be the same thing, but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation.”
Tems pointed out Future’s reputation as a “ladies’ man,” highlighting that he has fathered multiple children. “He has about five kids,” she added.
During the interview, Tems also revealed some of the top rap artists who have inspired her music career, naming Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole.
Tems previously collaborated with Drake on his 2021 album, Certified Lover Boy. This year, J. Cole was one of only two featured artists on her debut album, Born In The Wild.
