Supreme Court Reinstates Senator Anyanwu as PDP National Secretary
The Supreme Court has overturned the judgments of the Court of Appeal and Federal High Court that removed Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the PDP. A five-member panel ruled that the matter falls under the internal affairs of the party and is not justiciable. Justice Jamilu Tukur struck out the trial court’s October 2024 judgment and set aside the appellate court’s December ruling affirming Anyanwu’s removal. The court upheld the minority judgment that dismissed the case due to lack of jurisdiction, stating that the plaintiff, Aniagu Emmanuel, lacked legal standing.
