Sudan Cuts Ties with UAE Over Alleged Support for Paramilitary Group
Sudan has severed diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates over allegations of supporting the rival Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in its ongoing civil war, following intensified RSF attacks on Port Sudan, a city previously considered safe. The move includes withdrawing Sudan’s ambassador and closing its missions in the UAE, as tensions escalate amid widespread drone strikes and accusations of UAE-backed interference. Despite the UAE’s denial of involvement, the conflict has killed thousands, displaced millions, and drawn international concern, with both the Sudanese army and RSF facing war crimes accusations.
