South Korean Court Reinstates Impeached Prime Minister Han Duck-soo

South Korea’s Constitutional Court has reinstated impeached Prime Minister Han Duck-soo as acting president, dismissing his impeachment in a 7-1 ruling. The court is continuing to deliberate the fate of President Yoon Suk-yeol, who was suspended after imposing martial law on December 3. Meanwhile, Yoon faces possible permanent removal, with six out of eight justices needed to uphold his impeachment, and criminal charges, including insurrection, which could lead to life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.
