Skales Breaks Silence on Relationship with Wizkid
Popular Nigerian rapper Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known by his stage name Skales, has finally opened up about his relationship with fellow artist Wizkid. The revelation came on Wednesday when Skales responded to a comment from a user on X.
Skales, in a reflective post on his official X account, stated: “You know how many people I have given a platform and when they made it, they switched on me but I am still here and being blessed by God. I’m unstoppable. I am from Kaduna with Edo in my blood. I am Martina’s son.”
Following this post, an X user with the handle @aurora94212924 accused Skales of betraying Wizkid, stating, “You switched on Wiz too, became friends with his enemies so as to spite him. Forever an underdog Werey.”
In response, Skales clarified the nature of his relationship with Wizkid, revealing that they were never close friends despite their collaboration at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), the record label where both artists launched their careers.
“I never ever switched on him. He doesn’t like me. We were never close friends either but EME members. So rest,” Skales replied, setting the record straight.
The exchange has sparked discussions among fans, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics between two of Nigeria’s prominent music figures.
Skales and Wizkid were both signed to EME, a label known for nurturing some of Nigeria’s biggest music talents, but their relationship appears to have been more professional than personal.
