Senate Votes to Remove Danladi Umar as Chairman of Code of Conduct Tribunal
The Senate has removed Danladi Umar from his position as Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
The decision was made after a motion sponsored by Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, which sought the invocation of Section 157(1) of the Constitution for Umar’s removal
Meanwhile, he cited several allegations of corruption and misconduct against Umar, which had been brought to the Senate’s attention through numerous petitions.
The Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions had previously invited Umar for a series of investigative hearings in response to these claims.
