Renowned Nigerian Islamic Singer Rukayat Oyefeso has Passed Away

Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, a renowned Nigerian Islamic singer, has passed away. Her death was confirmed by Ilorin-based cleric Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh on his official Facebook page early Tuesday morning.

Tributes began pouring in following the announcement, including a brief tweet from Jubril Aawat, a media aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also expressed his condolences with the phrase, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return,” referencing a verse from the Quran.

Rukayat was celebrated for her captivating voice, which resonated deeply within the Muslim community, earning her a devoted following. Her contributions to Islamic music have left a lasting impact.
