President Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After State Visits to France and South Africa
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after completing a state visit to France and South Africa, where he engaged in significant bilateral discussions aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s international relations. According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4.
The President was warmly received by several dignitaries, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; and FCT Commissioner of Police, Peter Opara.
During his visit to France, President Tinubu met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. They participated in the Nigeria-France Business Council meeting, where discussions focused on strengthening economic ties between the two countries, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to mutual prosperity.
In South Africa, Tinubu attended the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Cape Town. The session featured deliberations across eight working groups, addressing areas such as trade, investment, technology, and security. The high-level talks led to the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding and agreements, underscoring a renewed commitment to collaboration between Nigeria and South Africa.
President Tinubu’s return marks the successful conclusion of a diplomatic mission designed to strengthen Nigeria’s global partnerships and advance its economic and political interests.
