President Tinubu Approves Mandatory NIN Use Across All Government Agencies
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the use of National Identity Number (NIN) authentication across all federal government ministries, departments, and agencies, following the launch of the NIN authentication platform by the National Identity Management Commission. According to the National Identity Management Commission spokesperson, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the new system offers web, Application Programming Interface, and mobile-based identity verification to enhance data security and streamline citizen access to government services as the platform ensures user privacy by requiring explicit consent for data sharing during identity checks, promoting transparency and control over personal information.
