President Tinubu Announces Subsidized Road Transport on 144 Routes for Christmas Season
President Bola Tinubu has announced that his administration has subsidized road transport costs on 144 routes across Nigeria and is taking steps to ensure secure and convenient transportation during the Christmas season.
In a Christmas message signed by his Media Aide, Bayo Onanuga, the president conveyed his greetings to Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, emphasizing the holiday’s themes of love, peace, and unity.
“Christmas embodies the fulfilment of divine prophecy and symbolizes the triumph of love, peace, and unity. It is a poignant reminder that light can emerge even in the darkest times, bringing solace and hope. This belief resonates with people of all faiths,” Tinubu said.
The president assured Nigerians that the country is on a path of restoration and progress, urging citizens to renew their hope in a prosperous future. He extended well-wishes to travelers, highlighting the provision of free train services and subsidized transport to ease travel during the festive season.
Reflecting on recent tragedies in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, Tinubu expressed sadness and prayed that such incidents do not recur. “Our thoughts are with those who continue to suffer from these heartbreaking incidents. We earnestly pray that such misfortunes do not revisit our families and communities,” he said.
He offered condolences to families affected by natural disasters, fires, and accidents, encouraging Nigerians to find solace in faith, loved ones, and the presence of Jesus Christ.
Tinubu called on Nigerians to show kindness to those facing challenges, reminding citizens that acts of compassion transcend financial status. “Kindness transcends financial status. Those with modest means and those with abundance need a smile or a word of encouragement,” he said.
Commending Nigerian troops for their bravery in safeguarding the nation, the president urged continued support and prayers for both the armed forces and national leaders, affirming his administration’s commitment to serving the country diligently and striving for prosperity.
