Presidency Inaugurates National Community Engagement Framework Drafting Committee

April 10, 2025

The Presidency has launched the National Community Engagement Framework Drafting Committee, a key initiative aimed at bringing federal policies closer to grassroots communities across Nigeria. Abdullahi Yakasai, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the North-West, emphasized that the framework embodies the spirit of partnership and collective action. Yakasai stressed that the framework would ensure decisions prioritize the wellbeing of citizens and foster shared responsibility in governance. Under the directive of President Bola Tinubu, the committee will work on guidelines for collaborative governance, inclusive decision-making, and citizen empowerment, with their initial focus on mapping community engagement efforts, identifying gaps, and creating metrics to measure impact.
