Power Surge Identified as Cause of Amoyo Fire Outbreak – Kwara Fire Service
The Kwara State Fire Service has confirmed that a power surge triggered the fire outbreak that occurred on Sunday at Olupo Junction, Temidire Zone, Oke-Maro, Amoyo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
Responding promptly to a distress call, fire service personnel arrived to find a four-bedroom bungalow engulfed in flames. The officers swiftly contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. Despite their efforts, the fire damaged two rooms within the building before being completely extinguished.
Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, disclosed in a statement on Monday that the fire was caused by a power surge.
The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, extended his sympathies to the affected residents and urged the public to observe strict safety precautions to avert similar incidents.
“The Kwara State Fire Service remains committed to safeguarding lives and property,” the statement read, encouraging residents to report emergencies promptly.
