PDP Hails Governor AbdulRazaq for Osi Campus Commissioning, Urges Prioritizing of Inherited Projects
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has congratulated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the commissioning of the first-ever project completed by his administration, marking a significant milestone in the state.
The event, which saw the Governor cutting the tape for the use of buildings at the Osi Campus of Kwara State University (KWASU), was hailed by the PDP as a positive development, reflecting the impact of the party’s constructive criticisms on governance and progress in the state.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the PDP noted that had the Governor heeded the party’s early advice, more tangible projects could have been completed during his first term, which could have attracted significant attention and benefits to the people of Kwara State. The party expressed concern that despite the completion of the Osi campus structures, the administration has often focused on road patching, classroom painting, and renovation of existing infrastructure rather than initiating new, impactful projects.
The PDP also acknowledged the Osi campus as an initiative that originated under the PDP government and praised the Governor for making it the first project he is commissioning after about six years in office. While celebrating this achievement, the party urged the Governor to prioritize the completion of several other important projects inherited from previous administrations that have been neglected, despite their potential to greatly benefit the people. These projects include the Harmony Advance Diagnostic Centre, Shonga Farms, IVTEC, and the Ajase-Ipo initiative.
In conclusion, while welcoming the commissioning of the Osi campus, the PDP reaffirmed its commitment to holding the Governor accountable through constructive criticism. The party emphasized that its focus will always be on the well-being of the people and the progress of Kwara State, and it will continue to prioritize these values over the divisive and politically motivated propaganda that characterized the “Otoge” campaign during the opposition phase.
