Osun Government Urges AGF to Recognize Newly Elected Local Government Officials
The Osun State government has formally written to the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Auditor-General, and the CBN Governor, urging recognition of the newly elected PDP local government chairmen and councillors, citing a subsisting court ruling that removed the previous officials. The government emphasized that the February 22, 2025, election was valid and should be acknowledged. However, the APC in Osun State condemned the move, arguing that the newly introduced officials were not legitimately elected, asserting that a Court of Appeal ruling on February 10, 2025, had reinstated the previously sacked local government executives.
