Ondo City Flooding: Lawmaker Abiola Makinde Assesses Damage, Commends Community Heroes
In the wake of severe flooding that submerged parts of Ondo city over the weekend, Abiola Makinde, the member representing the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, and Wale Akinsotu, the Commissioner for Information in the State, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the affected areas.

During the assessment, he commended the bravery of community members who rescued individuals from being swept away by the floodwaters as he visited several critical locations, including the canal along Ife Road, the canal at Fagun Estate, and the bridge at Oke-Odunwo. These visits were crucial for understanding the root causes of the persistent flooding in these areas.
Makinde assured his constituents that he would utilize all available resources as their representative in the National Assembly as he pledged to reach out to relevant government agencies, such as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to secure assistance for those affected by the flooding.
His commitment underscores the importance of addressing the urgent needs of the community during this challenging period.
Additionally, Makinde expressed gratitude towards Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who, despite being out of the state during the flooding, promptly dispatched members of his cabinet to Ondo to address the situation.
