Ogun Magistrate Court Grants Portable Bail, Trial Adjourned to March 5

Magistrate O.L. Oke of the Ogun State Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, granted controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, bail set at N2 million with a surety in like sum on Thursday.
Portable faces a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, possession of weapons, and disorderly conduct, to which he pleaded not guilty. The Ogun State Police Command had charged him for allegedly assaulting three officials from the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).
He was arrested after initially going into hiding when his protégés were arraigned for armed violence, obstruction, and assault. In court, the visibly shaken singer was seen in tears as the case was briefly stood down for 30 minutes when the State Government took over from the Commissioner of Police. His defense counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, pleaded for bail, assuring that he would not jump trial.
The magistrate granted bail under strict conditions, warning Portable against discussing the case on social media, causing any disturbances, or missing court appearances, stating that failure to comply would lead to bail revocation. When questioned about his mental state, Portable affirmed he was fine, and the case was adjourned to March 5.
