Ogun Governor Approves Promotion for 26,764 Civil Servants
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has approved the conduct of promotion exercises for 26,764 eligible civil and public servants in the state, covering both the 2023 and 2024 periods. The announcement was made by the Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, in a statement released on Friday. The promotion exercises will include upgrades and transfers for civil servants in various sectors, including the core civil service, teaching and non-teaching staff in government schools, as well as employees of state-owned institutions such as the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.
The promotion exercises will benefit civil and public servants across various cadres—junior, senior, and management levels—in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of Ogun State. The assessment for the promotions will be based solely on oral interviews. Additionally, the Governor approved the December 2024 Combined Confirmation/Promotion Tests and the Compulsory Public Service Examinations for both senior and junior cadre officers, typically organized by the Bureau of Establishments and Training.
Kehinde Onasanya highlighted that this approval further demonstrates Governor Abiodun’s commitment to improving the welfare, morale, and professional growth of Ogun State’s workforce. The Governor’s actions reflect his ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of civil servants and ensure their continued career development.
The Head of Service expressed gratitude on behalf of the state workforce to Governor Abiodun for his worker-friendly policies. He urged civil servants to demonstrate their appreciation by dedicating themselves to their duties in response to the Governor’s continued support for their advancement.
