Ogun Government Sets March 31 Deadline for Herders’ Registration

The Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has set March 31 as the deadline for herders to register in collaboration with the South West Commodity Farmers Organisation. According to Permanent Secretary Kehinde Jokotoye, the registration aims to enhance security, resolve conflicts, and improve livestock management while allowing herders to access government support and subsidies. The state also warned private veterinary practitioners, veterinary pharmaceutical outfits, slaughter slabs, and livestock markets operating without proper approval to comply with regulations or face legal action under the Animal Disease Control Act of 2022.
