Obaseki Embarks on ‘Post-Tenure Medical Vacation’ Following Eight-Year Governorship
Godwin Obaseki, the former governor of Edo State, has commenced a vacation for rest and extended medical checks following his two-term tenure. Crusoe Osagie, Obaseki’s media adviser, announced the development on Wednesday but did not disclose the location of the vacation.
Obaseki handed over power to his successor, Monday Okpebholo, on November 11, marking the end of his eight-year governorship. In his statement, Osagie conveyed the former governor’s gratitude to both God and the people of Edo State for their trust and support during his tenure.
“He urged all Edo people, both at home and in the diaspora, to remain hopeful and continue to pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our state and Nigeria,” Osagie added.
Obaseki’s tenure was marked by several development initiatives, as well as political challenges, and his vacation comes as a period of recuperation after years of public service.
