NSCDC Detains 19-Year-Old Suspected Kidnapper in Ilorin
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained a 19-year-old suspected kidnapper, Abu-Umar, for alleged involvement in the abduction of a woman and her two children.
Speaking at a press conference in Ilorin on Monday, the state commandant, Umar Mohammed, disclosed that the suspect had orchestrated the kidnapping of Isiaka Halimah and her sons, Kabir Isiaka and Hassan Isiaka, on November 7 at Gidanrogo in Ajase-Ipo, Ifelodun Local Government Area.
The suspect, a former employee of the victim’s family, was apprehended after investigators traced the kidnappers’ phone calls to his mobile number.
“While Halimah has been released, the two children are still in captivity,” Mohammed stated.
The commandant reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to addressing criminal activities and safeguarding lives in the state.
“We are working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safe release of the children,” he added.
The NSCDC has urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to assist security efforts in the state.
