NPFL Fines Shooting Stars N5m Over Crowd Violence

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a N5 million fine on Shooting Stars following violent behavior by their supporters during last weekend’s match against Ikorodu City. The league body also banned Shooting Stars’ fans from attending the club’s home games at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba for the rest of the season. Shooting Stars were found guilty of three charges, including failure to provide adequate security and allowing their supporters to engage in violent conduct. The NPFL cited breaches of Rule C9, which led to the assault on the visiting team and the throwing of objects onto the field. The club has 48 hours to accept the ruling or appeal the decision.
