Northern Governors Decry Yobe Attack, Commiserate With Victims’ Families
The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya, has condemned the recent attack in Mafa, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, which resulted in the tragic loss of numerous lives.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Yahaya expressed deep disgust over the senseless act of violence, describing it as a heinous crime that has caused immense grief to the affected families and communities.
He emphasized the urgent need for security forces to intensify their efforts in tracking down and apprehending those responsible for this atrocity and other similar attacks across different regions.
“This brutal act must not go unpunished. I call on security agencies to double their efforts and ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice,” Yahaya stated.
While commending the security forces for their continued efforts against the remnants of the degraded criminal elements, the NSGF chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the northern governors to support all initiatives aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.
He highlighted the importance of collective action to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
Governor Yahaya extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and the government of Yobe State. He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
