Nigerian Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiative Reaffirms Support for Women and Youth Farmers

The Nigerian Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiative has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring women and youth are fully included in all government agricultural programs. This was highlighted during the official handover ceremony where Farmer Lucy Pam was sworn in as the new National Coordinator, following Mrs. Omolara Svensson’s appointment as Special Adviser to the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security. Svensson urged the new leadership to focus on inclusivity and innovation, while also promising to champion the cause of genuine women farmers in her new role. She noted that women still face challenges in accessing farmland, finance, and fair tax policies, and called for more support to strengthen food security nationwide.
