Nigeria Joins Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

Nigeria has officially become a full member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The decision was confirmed during a the Executive Council meeting in Abuja, with Finance Minister Wale Edun highlighting the significance of the membership for the country’s infrastructure development and economic growth. Nigeria, which was invited to join AIIB in 2021, has now completed all necessary legal and financial processes. This membership is expected to unlock vital financing opportunities for key infrastructure projects and boost economic transformation across sectors.
