Nigeria and Brazil Seal 1.1 Billion dollars on Agricultural Deal to Boost Food Security.

Nigeria and Brazil have signed the commercial phase of the $1.1 billion Green Imperative Project (GIP) to boost agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and attract private-sector investment. The agreement, signed at the presidential villa in Abuja, aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point agenda and aims to support small-scale farmers by integrating them into the agricultural value chain. The GIP, the largest agricultural project in Africa, focuses on sustainable, low-carbon farming and has secured approximately 8 billion dollars in funding across multiple phases. Furthermore, Brazilian Ambassador Carlos Garcete reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the initiative, which includes importing and assembling agricultural equipment in Nigeria, with provisions for local repairs and training.
