Niger State Governor Imposes Curfew on Minna Over Rising Insecurity

The Niger State Governor, Umaru Mohammed Bago, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Minna, the state capital, following a surge in attacks, killings, and thuggery across the city. The curfew, which runs from 6 pm to 6 am, also restricts the movement of commercial motorcycles and tricycles within the period, although medical emergencies are exempt. Furthermore, he announced the measure during a security meeting with traditional rulers and heads of security agencies, stressing that the government would not fold its arms while criminals terrorize innocent citizens while ordering local heads to document all visitors and warned that houses sheltering criminals or drug dealers would be demolished.
